My Name is Jena Renay Gonzales and I was born and raised East Side San Jose. I am a Chicana that grew up believing that a little “sana sana” cured everything.

Growing up I wasnt encouraged to discuss my traumas or trials. I was brought up believing that you do not cry unless you had a good enough reason, and there were never reasons good enough. I was told that depression was in your head.

My family taught me what was taught to them. I knew that in order to break generational hurts and heal myself, my family and my community I had to break the pattern.

I wasn’t educated on wellness and when I sought it out the women teaching it, they looked and sounded nothing like me. I could not relate to their story. It was important for me to provide representation in the wellness community for women like myself. So I decided to get certified and start NYA wellness to be an advocate for women with similar struggles.

NYA Wellness represents not your average wellness. There are no highlight reels here just raw and real wellness from a woman who has challenged her upbringing and beliefs to help you do the same.

Know you are not alone and I would love to walk this journey with you!
